COVID-19 Situation
As with any disaster or emergency, Colorado Voluntary Agencies Active in Disaster respond based upon unmet needs of the community and individuals. The COVID-19 situation is no different. Here are the agencies currently responding. You can read more about their efforts and donate on the Agency Donation page.
The Salvation Army - The Salvation Army is delivering 3,000 meals a day. They are providing food boxes and over 22,000 shelter beds to the homeless. In addition to these efforts, The Salvation Army is providing rental assistance, utility assistance, emotional and spiritual care, and other essential support to the community. None of this is possible without the support of their volunteers and donors.

Food Bank of the Rockies – As countless businesses have been forced to close their doors and their staff are going without wages, many more people have been forced to rely on their emergency food network for the first time. The need for these services have increased significantly. Food Bank of the Rockies has no plan to cease food distribution. They are working to establish operational plans, taking into consideration the safety of staff, volunteers, partners, and clients. However, they need your help. Cash donations are best. They can leverage your financial gift in a time when food donations are becoming scarce.

Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains – Lutheran Family Services is providing case management services for individuals in this situation and other unique circumstances. They obtain food from partner agencies and housing from generous sources. They are challenged to find transportation from the high mountains down to the city, and even from hospital to housing location in the metro area. They need personal care items and other daily essentials to folks who find themselves in isolation due to infection. Even small donations can go a long way.

Spark the Change Colorado – Spark the Change Colorado is recruiting volunteers for the COVID-19 response and recovery efforts on behalf of hundreds of responding agencies. In partnership with Harvest Pack, they are organizing volunteers to package meals for those in need. You can donate or volunteer to support these efforts.
